NCAA Coral Gables Baseball Super Regional: Miami Hurricanes vs. Virginia Commonwealth Rams - Game 2 Recap

Miami earned the program's 24th trip to the College World Series in Omaha by beating VCU Saturday in Game 2 of the team's super regional in Coral Cables. The Hurricanes used a five-run seventh inning to break open what had been a close game. VCU scored three times off Miami starter Thomas Woodrey, who only went two innings, but the Hurricanes' Sam Abrams (2-0) and two other pitchers pitched seven innings of scoreless relief. Abrams allowed only one hit in four innings of work. Miami's Willie Abreu was 2-for-3 with a home run , two runs scored, two RBI, and two walks, and the Hurricanes' other eight starters all scored a run each.

The Hurricanes took om the VCU Rams in a game 1 match up. This game looked to be a prime Pitchers dual. Both Pitchers with sub 3.00 era's and were ready to flex there muscles. Heading to the Bottom of the 2nd the game was tied up 0-0 until J.Heyward drove a 2 run single to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead. That was followed up by an RBI single by R Eusebio to give the Canes a 3-0 lead. That would hold until the top of the 3rd as the Rams finally scored. The Rams would add another run in the 6th but that is all they would be able to do. The Canes would hold on as starter Suarez, and the Pen would shut down most of the Rams and hold on to win the game. Game 2 will be on Saturday and should be another barn burner.

NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament: Rounds 2 & 3 - Session 1: Arizona vs. Texas Southern & VCU vs. Ohio State Recap

Arizona took on the Tigers of Texas Southern. Texas Southern had a few upsets this year, and did beat Michigan State earlier in the year. However the Wildcats have been beating teams easily and coasted through the Pac-12 tourney. The Wildcats wasted no time, and ran all over the Tigers. They put up a big lead and would never look back. At halftime the Wildcats would be up 21 and would maintain that lead for the rest of the game. If you like offense this was your game to watch as it was very much up and down and a lot of scoring did happen. Arizona will go onto the next round and play Ohio State.
