The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to their next series for any competition, as the Maryland Shore Hawks couldn't provide much in the way of competition for them this weekend. It was opening weekend and the fans surely enjoyed it, as they scored a total of 36 runs in three games. The offense exploded for a total of nineteen runs on fifteen hits, and had solid pitching from all contributors to allow them to sweep the Shore Hawks of Maryland. Alabama combined for some small ball play and some long ball play and got it done in all categories. Chance Vincent connected with a single after Overstreet knocked one in to get Maryland Shore Hawks starter out of the game early in this one.

Will Carter pitched seven scoreless innings, then the Crimson Tide bullpen completed the shutout as Alabama won their second straight game Saturday over visiting Maryland-Eastern Shore. Carter gave up only two hits, and Alex Watkins and J.C. White each pitched scoreless innings in relief. It was Alabama's second straight shutout win. Carter is a junior-college transfer who made his first appearance in an Alabama uniform. Meanwhile, the offense opened up a 6-0 lead with a four-run fourth inning that included two hit-by-pitches with the bases loaded. Casey Hughston went 4-for-4 and Kyle Overstreet was 2-for-5 with three RBI. No player for Maryland-Eastern Shore got more than one hit.

In the fifth innings, Alabama scored two runs in three hits . The sixth inning didn't produce any runs. The seventh innings saw Alabama score one run while Maryland were still hoping to open their account. In the 8th innings Alabama scored two more runs in two hits.
