Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. UMass Minutemen Recap

The undefeated 6th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish hosted the Umass Minute Men. The Irish put on a big time offensive display in this game rushing for almost 500 yards. It was actually 477 rushing yards on 50 carries. CJ Prosise had 15 carries for 149 yards and two touching including one that he broke for 57 yards. Big runs were the theme of the day for the Irish as Brandon Winbush had 4 carries for 92 yards one of which was for 58 yards. Josh Adams was able to top them all with a 70 yarder. In total he had 133 yards on 13 carries. ND QB Deshone Kizer also had a great day going 15 for 22 for 207 yards and 2 scores. He had a QB rating of 168.1 on the day. The star for the Minute Men was Marquisse Young who broke an 83 yard run himself.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Massachusetts Minute Men faced off in a men's college hockey game on March 8th. The home Irish got the scoring started under a minute into the game when Thomas DiPauli scored his 7th goal of the season. It was assisted by Peter Schneider for his 6th assist of the year and Andy Ryan for his 8th. DiPauli then scored again in the early part of the 2nd period for the games second goal. Once again the goal was assisted by Peter Schneider and Andy Ryan. Schneider added a third assist later in the game.

It was a frenzy of an interesting day for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who spliced the UMass Minutemen during the March 7 game. It's an understatement to say that the day was quite a struggle for the UMass Minutemen. Some of the players and the coach quoted after the game said the feeling was one of frustration because what had initially started as a good game for them ended with a loss. At some point the opposing teams were almost tied. Additionally, Umass Minutemen had some injured players that day which probably contributed to their lack of help. Ultimately we'll just wait and see what the next game holds.
