Florida Gators vs. UCF Knights Recap

Tuesday’s showdown between two top-ten teams lived up to its expectations. In front of a record crowd – and for the first time for the seniors on the team – the Knights of UCF beat the second-ranked team in the country, the Florida Gators. Initially, offensive production for both teams was slow, but both pitchers soon were locked in a close game that never seemed to be clearly in one team’s favor or not. UCF’s bullpen played a critical role in the win, as the chosen reliever, Trent Thompson, got the save as he faced two baserunners on in the 8th inning and denied UF a chance to score off a walk in the 9th.
