In-state rivals Oklahoma and Tulsa couldn't stop each other on offense, but Oklahoma's offense proved more potent in a back-and-forth battle. The 16th-ranked Sooners gave up 603 yards but gained 773 yards of their own. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 32-of-38 passes for 487 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for 85 yards and two scores. Sooners running back Samaje Penne gained 152 yards on 22 carries and ran for a 20-yard score that clinched the game for the Sooners by giving them a 21-point lead with 5:30 to play. Tulsa quarterback Dane Evans was 34-for-51 for 427 yards and four touchdowns, and Golden Hurricane running back gained 161 yards on 31 carries.

The 16th ranked Oklahoma Sooners went into the Reynolds Center and came out victorious against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Sooners jumped ahead of the Golden Hurricane early as they started the game on a 13-4 run. Brandon Swannegan's 3 point play pulled the Hurricane within 2 at 20-18. However, a 9-0 Oklahoma run essentially put the game away as the Sooners cruised to an easy victory. TaShawn Thomas led the way for the Sooners with a game high 25 points. Teammate Isaiah Cousins added 21 points including 5/8 from 3 point range. Shaquille Harrison had 21 points in a losing effort for Tulsa. With the win, Oklahoma improved to 6-2 on the season.

Tulsa hosted the Oklahoma Sooners in Tulsa, OK on Saturday afternoon. Tulsa didn’t’ stand a chance from the 1st snap. With only 53 seconds into the game Keith Ford scampered into the end zone on a 7 yard run for Oklahoma. They only poured it on from there as they scored the first 31 points of the game to take a 31-0 lead into halftime. Tulsa was able to find paydirt 1 time this afternoon with a 4 yard TD reception by Keevan Lucas early in the third quarter. All in all Oklahoma’s multi-dimensional attack was too much for Tulsa and sent fans home unhappy today.
