Tennessee Volunteers vs. Georgia Bulldogs Recap
October 10, 2015
Tennessee reversed the scripts that have plagued them through the early part of the season. Instead of blowing a double digit lead, which they had done in each of their three losses, they came back from a 24-3 hole to beat Georgia. Nick Chubb, Georgia's Heisman candidate running back, went out on the first offensive play for Georgia with a knee injury. He did not return, and he is still being evaluated to determine the severity of his injury. Georgia had a fumble return for a touchdown, and a punt return for a touchdown in the first half to help build the lead. Tennessee scored a late touchdown near the end of the first half, and then forced a Georgia fumble on the ensuing kickoff and scored another touchdown to trim the lead to 24-17 at the half. It was back and forth in the second half, but with Tennessee leading 38-31, Georgia had a chance to tie it on a long pass from quarterback Grayson Lambert to Reggie Davis, but Davis dropped a sure touchdown pass. Joshua Dobbs became the first Tennessee player to ever throw for 300 yards and run for 100 in a game. Tennessee has a bye week next week, and Georgia hosts Missouri between the hedges in Athens.
