NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament: Rounds 2 & 3 - Session 3: Gonzaga vs. Iowa & Louisville vs. Northern Iowa Recap

In the first match of the third session of the NCAA tournament held on 22nd March 2015, Gonzaga Bulldogs took on Iowa. By the end of the first half Gonzaga had taken a commanding 17 point lead. In the second half Gonzaga again finished on top with a two point lead. In the second match of the third session, Louisville took on Northern Iowa. In the first half of the game, Louisville came out on top and took a nine point lead by the end of the first half. In the second half Louisville again showed their superiority by coming out on top with a four point lead.

Louisville would take on UC Irvine in the 2nd round. This game looked to be a terrible match-up for the Cardinals as they don't have much size, and Irvine had 2 big guys over 7 foot tall. The game was very back and forth and the Cardinals did struggle with the size of Irvine. Louisville did take a 2 point lead into halftime and looked to pick it up in the 2nd half. The game remained back and forth in the 2nd half. Irvine had a 2 point lead with 1 minute left, but Wayne Blackshear would score to tie it up. From there Luke Nelson would shoot up a 3 for Irivine, and miss. On the rebound Will Davis Fouled Quentin Snider who made both 3 pointers to give Louisville the lead. With 6 seconds left, Irvine looked to win the game, but Alex Young turned the ball over with 1 second to lose the game.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Northern Iowa Panthers Recap

Northern Iowa almost pulled a shocker over the Iowa Hawkeyes in week 1 of the 2014 College Football season. Northern Iowa receiver David Johnson could not be contained, as he exploded for 203 yard on 5 receptions. This included a 70 yard pass play. Northern Iowa quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen benefited from this, as he gained 380 yards despite only going 17 for 37.
The game was back in forth for its entirety, with both teams trading scores from the start. Iowa opened up the scoring in the first quarter on a 13 yd TD run by LeShun Daniels. This was followed with two consecutive scores by Northern Ioawa, a 36 yd field goal by Michael Schmadeke followed by a 23 yd touchdown pass from Sawyer Kollmorgen. The two teams would continue to trade punches, with Iowa finally pulling ahead on a 12 yd pass from Jake Rudock to Damond Powell in the 4th.
