North Carolina Tar Heels Vs. South Carolina Gamecocks Recap

The North Carolina Tar Heels hosted there state rivals the South Carolina Gamecocks on Thursday night. This was the first game of the NCAAF season. The Tar Heels came out swinging first and scored on a 21 yard touchdown pass from Marquis Williams to Bug Howard. The Gamecocks would respond quickly with a TD from Connor Mitch to Pharoh Cooper on a 9 yard pass. Both teams would trade FG's, and then North Carolina would kick another to give them a 13-10 lead into halftime. Both teams struggled offensively but Shon Carson of the Gamecocks would break loose and score on a 48 yard TD run, and that would prove the game winning TD as the South Carolina would go on to win the game.

Clemson Tigers vs. North Carolina Tar Heels Recap

Clemson's ace pitcher Matthew Crownover pitched seven strong innings to lead the Tigers to a win over North Carolina Friday night. Crownover allowed only two unearned runs on the night and improved to 5-1 on the season with a 1.33 ERA. Taylor Vetzel shut out the Tar Heels in the eighth and ninth to earn his first save. For the Tigers offense, Tyler Krieger and Reed Rohlman each scored two runs during the first three innings. For the Tar Heels, left fielder Landon Lassiter was 3-for-3 and got on base in all four of his plate appearances. Losing pitcher Zac Gallen (1-2) gave up five Clemson runs in 6.2 innings of work.

Arizona has played outstanding all year and continued to in this game, but there is a reason why the game is played and the underdogs do not just give up, it is because the Musketeers have a fighting chance and competed for the W, would Arizona be able to win as expected?
