Aaron Rodgers lead the Green Bay Packers into New Orleans for a matchup with the underperforming Saints, who desperately needed a win to keep pace. But despite Rodgers throwing for 418 yards, the Packers came up three touchdowns short thanks to a dominant second-half by the Saints. In the victory, Drew Brees completed 27 of 32 passes for 311 yards (including second-half touchdowns to Brandin Cooks, Josh Hill, and Jimmy Graham) and Mark Ingram carried 24 times for 172 yards. In defeat, Randall Cobb caught five balls for 126 yards and Eddie Lacy caught 8 for 123 in addition to his 59 yards on the ground.

A scintillating match took place between the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints on October 19, 2014, The Lions ultimately emerged victorious over their rivals the New Orleans Saints with a score of 24-23, and this was perhaps the most exiting match of the season, a very close match indeed. Initially it looked like the Detroit Lions controlled a major part of the game but all of a sudden the New Orleans Saints bounced back to gain control of the game with the help of quarterback Mathew Stafford who sent two late touchdown passes and lead the team to victory by the end of the game.

Coming into the game, both teams were struggling with similar 1-3 records. Through the first half, the game was close as both defenses played well. At half time, it was 13-10 and both Drew Brees and Mike Glennon had thrown 1 touchdown pass each for each squad. The game remained close in the second half, as both teams exchanged points and possessions. In the end, the Saints out gained the Bucs in total yards 511-314. Drew Brees did not have his best game, going 35-57 with 371 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Mike Glennon faired much better, going 19-32 with 249 yards, 2 touchdowns, and only 1 interception.
