Arizona State Sun Devils vs. New Mexico Lobos Recap

Arizona State didn't score a touchdown in the first 29 minutes of Friday night's game against New Mexico, but the Mike Bercovici's touchdown pass to Tim White with 49 seconds to play in the first half sparked the Sun Devils' blowout win. Bercovici finished 22-of-37 for 317 yards and three touchdowns, including a 93-yard pass to Demario Richard in the fourth quarter. Richard caught four passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 104 yards on 15 carries. Tyrone Evans provided the New Mexico's best play, a 65-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The Lobos had a strong ground game, tallying 184 rushing yards, but got little done in the air.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. New Mexico Lobos Recap

A four-run second inning helped New Mexico to upset 17th-ranked Texas Tech Tuesday night in Lubbock. With the Lobos trailing 1-0, Cory Voss led off the inning with a double off Longhorns starter Ty Damron. Carl Stajduhar singled, scoring Voss, and Dalt Bowers singled to put runners on first and third with one out. Reece Weber bunted for a hit and a 2-1 advantage. The Red Raiders then committed two errors to give up two unearned runs. The Lobos led the rest of the way and improved to 12-10. Texas Tech fell to 16-9 even though Tyler Neslony, Cory Raley and Ryan Long all homered for the Red Raiders.

Arizona State Sun Devils vs. New Mexico Lobos Recap

The Lobos turned out to be Losers in Wednesday's game, dropping the game at a critical ninth inning. Luis Gonzales and Hayden Schilling managed to get on base near the end for the Lobos in the ninth, trying to bring back the game, but a strikeout by the Sun Devils' Ryan Burr and a subsequent groundout left the Lobos out in the rain. This is particularly disappointing because the Lobos came back in the seventh inning to tie the game thanks to Jack Zoellner who scored in that inning. Nonetheless, their efforts were too little and the Sun Devils continue on in the series.
