New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils Recap

The Devils' Lee Stempniak beat Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist on a two-on-one breakaway in overtime, giving the Devils their first win of the season against their crosstown rivals. The goal was Stempniak's first in a Devils uniform and sent 18,006 fans home from Madison Square Garden unhappy. Devils goalie Cory Schneider was also a star in the win, holding the Rangers scoreless for 60 minutes after Derek Stepan's early goal. Adam Henrique also scored his third goal of the season for New Jersey. The teams played a relatively clean game, as the Devils finished 0-for-3 on the power play and the Rangers finished 0-for-2.

New Jersey Devils Vs. San Jose Sharks Recap

The Sharks' Joe Pavelski and Brent Burns both scored in a shootout, giving San Jose a road win over the Devils. The shootout saw more scoring than regulation time, which the Sharks led for most of the night on Patrick Marleau's goal two minutes into the first period. Adam Henrique tied it for the Devils by scoring a power play goal with less than four minutes to play in the third. The Devils had six power plays on the night to the Sharks' two. San Jose goalie Martin Jones earned a win in net with 31 saves on 32 shots, improving his record to 4-0. The Devils' Corey Schneider stopped 33 of 34 shots.

New Jersey Devils Vs. Nashville Predators Recap

The Nashville Predators Traveled to take on the New Jersey Devils. Both teams have gone into seperate directions thus far. The Devils come into the game winless, while the Predators come into the game undefeated. The Predators came out and delievered the first blow with a power play goal by Roman Josi. That 1-0 lead would last all the way to third period as both goalies stood tall. The Devils looked to tie up the game on the power play with less than 3 minutes, but blew it when Roman Josi scored a shorthanded goal to give the Predators a 2-0 lead. But the Devils bounced back while still on the power play to cut the lead to 2-1 with 1:40 left. The Predators held on as Pekka Rinne stopped everything he could and Eric Nystrom added a late empty net goal to seal the win for the Predators.

New Jersey Devils Schedule in 2014 - 2015

The devil is in the all of my details for this schedule. The Devils start there season off with an game in Philly where it promises to be an all out fight which will set the t one for the rivalry this year, it will take place on October 9th. The home opener will be on the 18th vs. the Sharks. Other games is the game on November 11th when they take on the Minnesota Wild. If you want to see them skate vs. the champs watch them on March 23rd when skate against the Kings. Down the stretch on April 5 they head across the Hudson River to take on the Rangers then 2 days later it will be a chance for pay back because they face the rangers in Jersey which will be there last regular season home match up. The last game on the schedule has them playing the Panthers April 11th.

The devils are still putting in place the Roster right now the major headline is that Legendary goalie Martin Brodeur as of now is returning to play with the devils or with any team. Cory Schneider will assume the goalie job. The leadership rool though that Broduer had is being taken over by foward Adam Henrique and the captain Bryce Salvador who plays D . The coach hopes with everyone healthy they can regually play all four lines with players stepping up like ves Patrik Elias, Andy Greene, Marek Zidlicky, Jaromir Jagr, On the free agent front forwards Mike Cammalleri and Marty Havlat they hope to provide more ways to make adjustments so the devils can match up better. On rookie front Scott Gomez has been brought up to skate on a try out term also Connor Chatham and Ryan Kujawinski were sent down to work on their skating chops on the junior squad.

The Devils building is new it opened in 2007 It is named the Prudential Center its 165 Mulberry St in Newark which is right across from New York this area has a lot of poor people and really rough old area but you have to have some money to go the games and it the building is very closs to Newarks Penn Station and there ate plenty of cabs. Once your in the Arena it will be tight your not on top of each other but you are on top of the game, the place holds 17,625 the food is regular food nothing to local many complain this place is in the shadows of New York.

In 1995 shorter seemed to be better. The devils won the cup in 1995 which was a long lock out season they were a great squad by most sports historians so with a very short season they won but not just won they set a record for best play off record winning 11 straight games and upset the Red Wings who were picked to win it all that season.

Before they became part of the Northeast they were a mid west team founded in 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri and were called Kansas City Scouts they went to Colorado no they were not a baseball team but they were called the Colorado Rockies from 1976 to 1982. Then thy came to where they have stayed New Jersey starting in 1982. They remaine the only franchise in Jersey. They ssaw three cup wins 95, 2000 and 03 and were part of 5 conference championships , Bobby Holik, with the goaltending of Martin Brodeur really have been big names for the team. Other Key players on the team through out the years are Scott Stevens, Scott Niedermaye last but not least Ken Daneyko they all played on D. The reason the team as the name of the Devils Is because in the garden state there is a tail of the Devil.

The fans are really in the middle too far north you see Rangers or Islanders little past Trenton NJ you find Flyers Fans so its tough. The arena isn’t that big and the area is the New York area so it is expensive to be up there in the first place. The fans who do go who aren’t hosting companies are big time fans who are loud and have a grasp about the rules of hockey and how to be a good fan. The upper levels you will often see the folks dressed in the red and paint there faces.

New Jersey Devils Rumors

According to sports blogs the chatter in the hockey world is that Brodeur is too old and should hang up the skate. He is very injury prone but attracts a lot of fans. The rumors is that perhaps you could see him wearing a Devils jersey at some point or he might head up north to play for the Maple Leafs they are currently in contract talks . The other rumor is that he has talked to Wayne Gredski who faced a similar situation back in his time. He has publically said he loves living in his home town of Montreal so much so he would even play as a back up to someone.
