In the first half of the game between Wisconsin Badgers and Marquette Golden Eagles, both the teams went neck to neck throughout the majority of the first half. But towards the end of the first half, Wisconsin Badgers surged ahead and established a three point lead at the end of the first half. In the second half , it was all Wisconsin Badgers as Golden Eagles couldnâ€™t keep pace with Badgers and lost the second half by a 22 point margin. For Golden Eagles, Apiew Ojulu top scored with 13 points and Arlesia Morse was the second top scorer with 12 points. For Badgers, Dakota Whyte was the top scorer with 18 points and Jacki F was the second top scorer with 17 points.

The University of Marquette Golden Eagles made an early season trip to Big 10 country for a challenging tilt against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Coach Thad Matta had his men ready as this contest was never seriously in doubt. Marquette could not solve the Buckeye offense as the home team demonstrated deft efficiency shooting over 65% while ringing up 32 buckets on 49 attempts. Despite clawing within 7 at halftime the Golden Eagles were never really a threat as a porous defense would continue to be their downfall. Forward Sam Thompson led the Buckeyes in minutes played with 37 while also contributing 10 points. All 10 Buckeye players that entered the game scored for Ohio State.
