NBA Preseason: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers Recap

In an up and down battle between Western Conference foes, the home court L.A. Lakers outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers with an excellent final period to steal a two-point victory.

The teams traded 4 point leads for much of the 1st half, Portland holding a two basket advantage after one quarter, then the Lakers turning the tables to tie the game at half time.

As if they were going to alternate quarters, the Blazers won the 3rd quarter by a single basket to take a 2-point lead into the final 20-minute period. In the last few minutes Laker high point man Jordan Clarkson would take control of the game, netting two final baskets down the stretch to secure victory for the Lakers, their 3rd against 4 losses in the preseason. Portland’s record was now even up at 3-3.

The NBA Champions toook on the Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors being the champs has to be odd for the Lakers who have dominated the state of California in basketball for quite some time, and has to feel odd it's instate rival is currently the champion. All Star Point Guard Steph Curry looked good as well going 5 for 10 from deep but could not propel his team to a shorten victory.

Marco Belinelli scored 17 points, leading seven Kings in double figures as Sacramento earned a preseason win over the Lakers in Las Vegas. Belinelli shot 5-for-10 from the floor, including three made three-pointers. The Lakers got a scare when Kobe Bryant left the game in the third quarter with a bruise on his left leg. Bryant finished with 10 points, and his injury did not appear to be serious. Jordan Clarkson led the Lakers with 17 points, though he took 16 shots to do so. Roy Hibbert had eight points and 10 rebounds for Los Angeles. The Kings took care of the ball well, committing only 10 turnovers on the night.
