Indianapolis Colts VIP Tailgate Recap
October 18, 2015
This week’s VIP tailgate party for Indianapolis Colts fans was stuffed full of all the normal fun stuff, but last night’s special event took on a little more of an exhilarating air. First of all NBC Sports was in town to televise the Colts-Patriots game live as the NFL Sunday special. And second, this was the first chance that the Colts had to welcome their despised rivals, the defending Super Bowl champions from New England. Waiting at the end of these tailgate festivities there was the long anticipated first real engagement between the Colts and Pats since the infamous “Deflate-Gate†AFC Championship game of last season.
Morton’s Steakhouse continued their unrivaled catering of food for the event that included a full open bar, along with a huge spread of food delicacies for all the Colt’s fans in attendance. The air of conversation on this evening took two distinct directions, one being talk rehashing the old news about deflated footballs, while others seemed to focus on the return of Indianapolis` start quarterback Andrew Luck. Not even the weekly visit from the Colt’s bevy of beautiful cheerleaders seemed able to distract the ardent conversation.
Alumni players were those who could be heard most often politely diverting any talk about what was, to conversations about what was going on now with the Indianapolis football team. A team that started this season with 2 disappointing defeats, managed to hold on and win twice without their starting quarterback, and now were getting ready in a couple hours to face a team that had been their harshest nemesis the last three seasons. While sipping cocktails and dipping chips, you could feel the intensity for the long-awaited rematch growing.
All the food and festivities could not damper the excitement almost to a boiling point as the time neared to enter Lucas Oil Stadium grew closer. It was another successful Colts VIP Tailgate party, and the throng of eager fans could only hope it would translate into a victory over their bitter rivals, a victory to atone for last year’s heartbreaking loss that ended the Colts run to the Super Bowl. This was another excellent evening of pre-game fun for Colt’s fans, but the real prize waited for them just a few blocks away.
