Oregon Ducks vs. Eastern Washington Eagles Recap

Despite a shaky defensive effort, seventh-ranked Oregon opened their season with a win over Eastern Washington at Autzen Stadium. The heavily favored Ducks gave up 549 yards of offense, but outgunned their guests with 731 yards of their own. Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams, who transferred from Eastern Washington, torched his old teammates for 246 yards and two touchdowns on 19-for-25 passing. Adams left the game after a big hit in the fourth quarter but was pronounced OK after the game. Ducks running back Royce Freeman ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Eastern Washington's Cooper Kupp had a huge game in a losing effort, catching 15 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns.

Georgetown took on the Eagles of Eastern Washington. The Eagles were one of the best offensive teams in all of the NCAA averaging over 80 points a game. Many experts were thinking this would be one of the games that would have upset written all over it, especially with the fact that the Hoyas have been struggling in recent tourneys. Eastern Washington came out strong and built a decent lead on the Hoyas early. However the Hoyas would battle back and started to take over late in the first half. They would take a 10 point lead into half, and never look back. Eastern Washington struggled to score early in the second half and was down by 20 quickly. They could not bounce back and recover from the deficit and would lose by 10.

Washington Huskies vs. Eastern Washington Eagles Recap

The #17 ranked University of Washington hosted the Eastern Washington Eagles at the Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. The first half saw the Eagles take a 42 to 31 lead. The Washington Huskies would not be held down for long as they reversed course and outscored the Eagles 50 to 35 to win the game by four points. Tyler Harvey led the Eagles with 21 points while Drew Brandon scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a losing effort. Robert Upshaw, came off the bench to lead the Huskies with 21 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 6 shots. With the victory the Huskies go to 8-0 on the season.
