NBA Preseason: San Antonio Spurs vs. Detroit Pistons Recap

The Spurs' Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points, leading the Spurs to their first win of the preseason over the Pistons at AT&T Center. Leonard hit 7-of-12 shots in 28 minutes of play to lead San Antonio's effort, and Manu Ginobli scored 15 to finish as the only other Spur in double figures. Defense was the key for San Antonio, as they held Detroit to 39 percent shooting. New forward Lamarcus Aldridge played his first home game for the Spurs and finished with nine points and seven rebounds. For Detroit, Reggie Jackson scored 20 points and Andre Drummond had 12 points and 15 rebounds. The Pistons got within 95-92 with 1:42 to play, but failed to score on their last four possessions.

The NBA Preseason game between the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons took place on October the 14th, 2015 at The United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The game resulted in a huge loss for the Chicago Bulls, losing by more than 20 points. Each team had four game leaders. For the Detroit Pistons, the game leaders were Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond, Stanley Johnson, and Jodie Meeks. For the Chicago Bulls, the game leaders were E'Twuan Moore, Joakim Noah, Nikola Mirotic, and Aaron Brooks. Overall, it was a very good dame. Both teams played their hearts out and it was a close call, but the Chicago Bulls just couldn't come out on top.

NBA Preseason: Indiana Pacers vs. Detroit Pistons Recap

The Pacers' Glenn Robinson III scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, helping Indiana to a preseason win over the Pistons at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. After Indiana trailed 91-88 late in the game, Robinson scored eight points in a key four-minute stretch as the Pacers took a 99-93 lead. The Pacers improved to 3-1 in the preseason while Detroit fell to 1-3. A great effort from the Indiana bench helped the home team to overcome a huge game from Pistons center Andre Drummond, who finished with 17 points and 21 rebounds including 10 offensive rebounds. Reggie Jackson and Ersan Ilyasova also had 17 points each for Detroit.

Detroit Pistons Schedule in 2014 - 2015

The 2014-2015 pre-season for the Detroit Pistons begins on October 7th 2014. This game is against the Chicago Bulls. Pre-season ends October 23rd 2014 against the Philadelphia 76ers. Regular season for the Detroit Pistons begins on October 29th 2014 at 9PM against the Denver Nuggets. The Pistons play against their biggest rivals not only in their pre-season opener game but many times through out their regular season: November 10th, February 20th, March 21st, and April 3rd. The Pistons have back-to-back games on October 17th and 18th, October 29th and 30th, November 9th and 10th, November 14th and 15th, November 25th and 26th, December 2nd and 3rd. Then the Pistons' next game is another back-to-back game December 6th and 7th. The Pistons have many other back-to-back games lowering their rest times for the season. The Pistons also play their other rivals the Lakers and the Celtics many times throughout the regular season as well.

The Detroit Pistons picked up Spencer Dinwiddie in a round 2 draft selection, pick 38. Greg Monroe is currently suspended from the team roster for two games. Monroe was suspended after he plead guilty to driving visibly impaired. He will be suspended for the 2 games without pay. The Detroit Pistons picked up: Jodie Meerks, D.J. AUgustin and Caron Butler via free agency. Meeks played for the L.A. Lakers, D.J. Augustin played for the Chicago Bulls and Caron Butler played for Oklahoma City Thunder. The Detroit Pistons lost Josh Harrellson and Peyton Siva on July 15th. They waived these players. They also lost Rodney Stuckey who was a free agent.

Detroit Pistons History

From 1941 to 1948 and 1948 to 1957, the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons (NBL), played in a gym of a high school in Fort Wayne Indiana. The owner of the team was Fred Zollner and his sister Janet Zollner. The Pistons were the NBL champions in 1944 and in 1945. They won the World Professional Basketball Tournament as well in 1944, 1945 and also in 1946. In 1948, the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons changed their name to the Fort Wayne Pistons and competed in the BAA. In 1952, the Pistons moved to Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, which was also in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. They were here until 1957. In 1957, the Pistons moved to the Detroit area to the Olympia Stadium for 4 years and then on to the Cobo Arena from 1961-1978. In 1978, they moved to the Pontiac Silverdome and stayed there for 10 years until their final move to their current stadium: The palace of Auburn Hills. In 1974, Fred Zollner sold the team to Bill Davidson. Bill Davidson was the owner of the Pistons until his death in 2009. They made it to the playoffs in 1985, 1986,1989, 1990, 1991, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Detroit fans are rowdy! From the brawl with Indiana inside the Pistons stadium to bomb threats and coin throwing, Piston fans are making their mark. In November of 204, a game against the Indiana Pacers, a foul occurred and Ben Wallace attacked Ron Artest. Once the fans saw this they becamse riled up. Havoc ensued and Artest was laying on the scorers table when a disgruntled Pistons fan threw a beer cup and is attacked by Artest. After this, the fans, growing arrogant from winning the championship and drunk began joining in attacking Artest and the Pacers teammate Stephen Jackson. Security came to break up the fight and the fans began attacking the guards, rushing onto the court and attacking any and every pacers teammate that was not involved! The pacers began to leave the arena but were met with flying chairs, spit and cups.
