The Dallas Stars stadium is called the American Airlines Center. The team moved from Minnesota to Dallas in the 1993-1994 season. American Airlines Center opened in 2001 for the 2001-2002 season. The capacity for hockey games is over 19,000 people. Basketball games are also played at American Airlines stadium. The field size of the stadium is over 840,000 square feet. The contruction for the stadium was over $420 million dollars which increased to 559 million dollars in 2014. The owner of the stadium is the entire city of Dallas. I hope this stadium continues to be very successful in the very near future.
Dallas Stars Trivia
The first team that Dallas beat in the playoffs was the St Louis Blues in 4 games in 1994. That was an awesome accomplishment, because that was the Dallas Stars first year in Dallas after moving from Minnesota. Darcy Wakaluk was the first goalie to win a playoff game for the Dallas Stars.
Dallas Stars History
The Dallas Stars moved from Minnisota during the 1993-1994 season. They won their first playoff game in their first season in Dallas. During the second season (1994-1995) they were delayed a few months due to the NHL lockout. That was frustrating as they wanted to continue their success right away from the previous season. The second season record did not go well as their record was 17-23-8. Bob Gainey resigned as coach during the 1995-1996 after another poor season. Eddie Belfour became the coach and made the team stronger in the 1997-1998 season. The Dallas Stars are looking to rebound in the future.

Dallas Stars Rumors
There are rumors that the NHL may expand very soon. It is unknown how it will affect the Dallas Stars in their division. In my opinion, I think there are enough NHL teams and having more may be too many. Just like in any sports, I think too much of something can ruin the game. We already have enough teams in the playoffs, and having more teams will make some the seasons not as exciting. The Dallas Stars are already in a great division and losing some of the rivaries with the other teams may not go over well. I hope there is no expansion at all.
