Dallas Cowboys vs. New England Patriots Recap

Missing their Pro Bowl caliber quarterback and wide receiver now for the last 3 weeks, the Dallas Cowboys continued to look like a second rate team minus their two superstars. Replacing Tony Romo and Dez Bryant is proving to be more than just an ominous chore for the Cowboy’s front office. Hosting the defending champs would not help matters in the least.

The Cowboys offense seemed to have no clue for the New England Patriots defense, and neither did the Cowboy defense which had played reasonably well the past couple of games. Dallas managed only a pair of Dan Bailey field goals to put their half dozen points on the board, while Tom Brady continued his assault on the NFL record books with a trio of touchdowns, 2 by air, and 1 by land.

Brady was his methodical self, completing 20 passes for 275 yards and stellar 130.9 quarterback rating. His counterpart, second stringer Brandon Weeden, was neither methodical, nor efficient. Weeded averaged a meager 4.8 yards per completion leading to a dismal 67.0 rating.

Dallas will get a week to try and heal some wounds with a bye next weekend, while the 4-0 Patriots will try to continue their undefeated season as they host the Indianapolis Colts in a rematch of last year’s storybook AFC championship, otherwise known as the “Deflate-Bowl”.

New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys Recap

The Dallas Cowboys had their hearts broken for the second straight week in the early 2015 NFL season, as they lost for the second consecutive time to an NFC South Division team.

Seemingly in control in the final period, the Cowboys managed to tie the score late in the fourth quarter, and actually had an opportunity to get the ball back to try for a game winning field goal. Poor clock management took that chance away from the Cowboys and it was a huge mistake.

Leaving the game tied left New Orleans Saint’s quarterback Drew Brees a chance to steal victory and that he did. A masterful drive down the field, resulted in Brees throwing his 400th touchdown in his illustrious career to give New Orleans their first win in 2015 and even the Cowboy’s record 2-2.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons Recap

The Falcons scored the game's final 24 points, erasing an early Dallas lead to earn a road win at AT&T Stadium. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan finished 24-for-36 for 285 yards and two touchdowns, including a 45-yarder to Julio Jones that was the game's biggest play. Jones caught 12 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Devonta Freeman rushed 30 times for 141 yards and three touchdowns, giving Atlanta a multi-pronged offensive attack. With Tony Romo injured, Dallas drove for four first-half touchdowns under backup Brandon Weeden, who finished 22-for-26 for 232 yards with one interception. But Dallas never scored after halftime and converted just one third down in the game.
