Third-ranked Alabama dominated 20th-ranked Wisconsin in both team's season opener. Fans think of the SEC as a passing league and the Big Ten as a running-dominated conference, but that was turned upside down Saturday. Alabama's running game was the difference as the Tide gained 238 yards on the ground and allowed just 40 to Wisconsin. The Tide's Derrick Henry led the assault with 147 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries. Alabama averaged 6.4 yards per run and 9.1 yards per pass. The Tide won despite taking 120 yards in penalties. For Wisconsin, Joel Stave completed 26 of 39 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns.

Defending champs Florida State took on Oklahoma State August 30, 2014
Florida comes out strong with Jameis Winston first down pass leading to a field goal in first quarter, followed by an Oklahoma pass picked off for another Florida goal. Winston textbook perfect 51 yard throw into the hands to Dorial Greene for 1&10 in red-zone leading to 17 to 0 score. Oklahoma comes back after an interception for field goal for 17-3 by half time. In third quarter, with Oklahoma down 20-10, missed coverage leads to J.W. Walsh to David Glidden pass with 55 yard run for sweet six. With pressure on, Florida responds with Winston 30 yard run to end zone. Fourth quarter with score at 27-17, Walsh loses ball and Florida recovers. Once again, a pass to Green leads to 50 yard run to score for Florida win. Green has 11 catches this season for a career high of 203 yards.
