Cincinnati Bearcats Vs. Miami Hurricanes Recap

Cincinnati quarterback Hayden Moore had a strong performance in his first career start, leading the Bearcats to 27 first half points in a win over Miami. Moore made a strong case to start even when starter Gunner Kiel returns from his injury, completing 22-of-33 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns. The Bearcats also had a strong running game as Tion Green rushed for 90 yards and Hosey Williams ran for 80 yards and a touchdown. Miami's offense moved the ball in the air and on the ground, but the Hurricanes settled for five field goal attempts and didn't score a touchdown after halftime. Joseph Yearby rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown for the Hurricanes, who fell to 3-1.

UAB and UCLA played a third round match up of two double digit seeds on Saturday. Robert Brown had a big game for UAB going 10 of 20 from the floor to score 25, but only one other Blazer was able to score in double figures. UCLA had a much more balanced attack with all five starters in double figures and Tony Parker dominated with 28 points and 12 boards. Kentucky was still on their pursuit of perfection when they took on the Cincinatti Bearcats. Cincy was actually able to outrebound UK 45 to 38, but they only shot 31% from the floor.

The Number 1 seeded Kentucky Wildcats took on the Hampton Pirates. The Pirates came into the field as the only team with a losing record. The Pirates put up a fight for a while, but eventually was dominated by the Wildcats. The Pirates hung around for the first 15 minutes only being down by single digits, but the Wildcats turned it up and started to score and put on heavy pressure. The Wildcats put up a 19 point lead into halftime. After halftime the Wildcats continued to dominate and had a lead by 30+ but the Pirates did all the could and only lost by 24. Karl-Anthony Towns was the star for Kentucky putting up 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Quinton Chievous was the highlight for Hampton as he put up 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
