Chicago Blackhawks vs. Columbus Blue Jackets Recap

The game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Columbus Blue Jackets last night lived up to most fans expectations, with the defensively solid Blackhawks controlling much of the game, while the Blue Jackets, off to a terrible start with 5 losses in a row, continued to struggle both defensively and on the score sheet. Columbus choose to go with their backup goaltender on this night, sitting their number 1 goalie and one time Vezina trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky, who has struggled early this season. Blackhawks star Patrick Kane, despite off ice controversy over the off season, is off to a fast start, scoring his fourth goal in only six games so far the season.

The Chicago Blackhawks headed to Washington to take on the Capitals. The Capitals would take it right to the Blackhawks as they jumped all over them early. T.J. Oshie would score on the power play to get things started. John Carlson would add a goal to give the Capitals a 2-0 lead. The Capitals would add another goal, and flex their muscles. The Blackhawks would finally score a goal early in the 3rd period, but that would be nowhere near enough. Capital Star and lead Alex Ovechkin would score to put the game completely out of reach and sent the struggling Blackhawks to another loss.

Philadelphia Flyers Vs. Chicago Blackhawks Recap

The Chicago Blackhawks headed to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers. Both goalies came out strong in the first period and stopped everything that was thrown at them. Michal Neuvirth of the Flyers would continue that trend as he would be a stone wall the whole game, and shutout the Blackhaws. Sam Gagner would start the scoring for the Flyers on a Power Play goal in the 2nd period and that is all they would need. Claude Giroux and Matt Read would add goals and go on to win the game, and take out the Blackhawks. The Flyers are now 2-1-1, while Chicago is 2-2-0.

Chicago Blackhawks Schedule in 2014 - 2015

The Black Hawks start the regular season off vs. the Stars on October 9th then on the 11th they return to the windy season for their home opener against the Buffalo Sabers, the puck drops in that match starting at 7:30 PM Central time. Other games on the docket to see is the return of an all out brawl vs. the LA Kings, many think that you might see them again facing each other in Western conference finals. They will face them three more times this year. First will be out west on November 29th then again in LA on the 28th of January. They will see them at home on March 30th. Other big games include St. Louis Blues on December 3rd. The Colorado Avalanche match on Dec. 27 should be a good one. They will be skating out doors on New Years Day when they face the Capitals for the Winter Classic. An Old school fight is sure to erupt on February 22 when Boston comes to the windy city. The Black Hawks for the most part are off to a healthy start. The only player hurt right now is Hartman with lower back issues but we will only be out for a week or so. Other recent news includes the announcement that Matt Carey and Phillip Danault plus Stephen Johns have all been movedto the minors. There is talk that Corey Crawford may see the starting spot at goalie. Antti Raanta, Scott Darling and Michael Leighton are also viable candidates though for the top roster spot. On offence Danault and Rasmussen have shown they work well on the Danault assited Rasmussen for the teams only goal in a pre season match the other night. Also look for some early season shifting along the blue line from the coaching staff this season. Its not the most popular thing in the world outside of the stadium but they have pretty packed crowds but it is more of business crowed on a normal say Tuesday night in February. It is also reported that they have a strong social media following compared to others in the league especially on Twitter so the fan base is going younger.

There may be a legal match this season for the Hawks a woman who was there for play off match in 2013 apparently got hit in the head with the puck and is asking for 50,000 in damages. There is talk this isn’t the first time something of this nature has happened but she may go after the United Center and the NHL organization. Legal sports scholars don’t think the team will try to fight it. Sadly though there hasn’t been any talk as of yet about making the arena any safer. It would also be bad Public relations to try to fight such a thing.
