The favored 49ers, officially opening their new stadium, started this game hot. Following a blocked punt, Colin Kaepernick threw a short touchdown pass to star wide receiver Michael Crabtree to take an early lead. Frank Gore added to the lead with an 8 yard touchdown run. However, sloppy play started to catch up to the 49ers. Following a penalty to extend the drive, Jay Cutler found Brandon Marshall for a touchdown right before halftime to cut the 49ers lead to 17-7. Both teams had long, clock killing drives in the 3rd quarter, with the 49ers adding a field goal and the Bears getting a 2nd Brandon Marshall touchdown. Finally, the 49ers penalties and mistakes came back to haunt them. Kaepernick threw two 4th quarter interceptions to rookie Kyle Fuller, which resulted in two more Bears touchdowns, one to Martellus Bennett and a third touchdown to Marshall. All was not well for the Bears, however, as they lost starting cornerback Charles Tillman for the season in this game.

The Chicago Bears currently play in the NFC North Conference. Lead by Quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte the bears possess one of the better offenses in the NFL. Last year they had a chance to make the playoffs in the final game of the season only to lose to Aaron Rodgers and the Green bay Packers. The Bears have been to 2 Superbowls and won the Superbowl in 1985 behind one of the best defenses in NFL history.
