Michigan State Spartans vs. Central Michigan Chippewas Recap

The Michigan State Spartans are one of the top ranked teams in the country and looked to have an easy games with the Central Michigan Chippewas. Well the Chippewas were able to give them a lot more than they bargained for that is for sure. QB Cooper Rush had a great game for CMU going 26 of 39 for 285 yards and a score with no interceptions. His QB rating in the game was 136.5. Anthony Rice was his main target catching 8 balls for 78 yards and the touchdown. Jesse Kroll also pitched in with 6 receptions for 86 yards. Running back Devon Spalding had 77 yards on 15 carries as well. The Spartans used a team effort on the ground to rack up 185 yards on 33 carries. The bulk of the action came from Madre London who had 73 yards on 15 carries but it was a total team effort.

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Central Michigan Chippewas Recap

The Central Michigan Chippewas went into Welsh-Ryan Arena and defeated the Northwestern Wildcats. Alex Olah hit a 3 pointer as the first half ended to cut the Chippewa lead to 7, 36-29 at halftime. Tre Demps' layup cut the lead to 3 early in the second half at 46-43. However, a 10-2 Chippewa run essentially put the game away as Central Michigan cruised to victory in the second half. Braylon Rayson led the way for the Chippewas with a game high 19 points. Teammate Luke Myer added 18 points. Alex Olah and Bryant McIntosh both had 12 points for the Wildcats. Central Michigan displayed great shooting all game as they shot 58.3% from the floor while holding Northwestern to just 41.9% shooting.
