Seattle Seahawks Vs. Carolina Panthers Recap

After trailing by nine points late in the fourth quarter, the Panthers came back to score two touchdowns in the final four minutes to stun the Seahawks. Carolina moved to 5-0 after winning the game on Cam Newton's 26-yard, final-minute pass to Greg Olson. Newton struggled in the game and threw two interceptions, but drove the Panthers for two scores when it mattered. Jonathan Stewart had a strong game on the ground for Carolina, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The defending NFC champion Seahawks fell to a shocking 2-4, their playoff hopes in jeopardy. Marshawn Lynch ran for just 54 yards on 17 carries after missing the previous two games with injuries.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers Recap

An opportunistic defense led the Panthers to a win over the Buccaneers and a 4-0 record to start the season. On an afternoon when Tampa Bay enjoyed a 411-244 advantage in offensive yards, the Buccaneers killed their chances by committing five turnovers. Panthers cornerback Josh Norman intercepted two Jameis Winston passes and returned one of those for a touchdown. Winston threw four interceptions in his worst performance in his first four games. Operating from great field position for much of the afternoon, the Panthers' Cam Newton threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 51 yards on 12 carries. Doug Martin rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown for Tampa Bay.

Carolina Panthers Vs. New Orleans Saints Recap

The unbeaten Carolina Panthers played host to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon in Charlotte, with one noticeable factor. The Saints were without their vaunted Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees. The loss would prove to be a huge factor in this gridiron battle.

Luke McCown got the start for New Orleans, and showed well completing 31 out of 38 pass attempts, but most were short and unproductive as the Panthers defense jammed the line of scrimmage from the very beginning. McCown’s counterpart, Cam Newton was equally as efficient, but on two of Newton’s 315 yards worth of passing, he found his wide receiver for Carolina touchdowns.

Newton was clearly the star of this game as he also ran the ball successfully for another 30 plus yards of offense, one of those to finalize a 4th quarter 88 yard Panther march down the field that ate up clock and gave Carolina an 11 point lead.

McCown looked sharp in answering with a late drive of his own to pull the Saints within 5 points, but the two-point conversion failed. After a quick Carolina 3 plays and out, it looked like the Saints were going to steal a victory on enemy turf, but the 9 play 48 yard drive ended at the Panther 23 yard line with an interception, McCown's only real mistake of the day.

Carolina improved to 3-0 on the 2015 season, while the hopes of a postseason for New Orleans took a serious hit, as less than 5% of the teams to ever start winless after three weeks have made it to the playoffs.
