In a low-scoring game that featured just one touchdown, Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a strong game and led Miami to a victory over Atlanta. Utilizing mostly short passing plays, Tannehill finished 15-for-19 for 145 yards and the game's only touchdown, a second quarter pass to Rishard Matthews. Meanwhile, the Dolphins' defense held the Falcons to just 50 yards rushing on 24 carries. Atlanta took a 9-7 lead on Matt Bryant's field goal early in the fourth quarter, but Miami drove for two field goals late in the game to earn the victory. The Falcons were just 3-for-14 in converting third downs while Miami was 2-for-12 in the category.

Matt Ryan led the Falcons' first team offense to touchdowns on Atlanta's first two possessions, but the Jets rallied for 30 straight points to win a preseason game Friday night at MetLife Stadium. Ryan finished 4-for-5 for 75 yards and a touchdown, but his backups T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree struggled and each committed a turnover. The Jets' Bryce Petty and Ryan Fitzpatrick combined for 286 passing yards, and New York's run defense held the Falcons to just 31 yards on 21 carries. The Jets' defense provided ten points on a safety in the second quarter and Rontez Miles' 57-yard return of Renfree's fumble in the third quarter.

NFL Preseason: Atlanta Falcons Vs. Tennessee Titans Recap

The Falcons jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter, blew that advantage, and then finally beat the Titans on Michael Ford's one-yard touchdown run in the fourth. Falcons starter Matt Ryan completed all six of his passes for 86 yards and a 13-yard touchdown to Julio Jones. Titans #2 draft pick Marcus Mariota received a rude welcome to the NFL as he turned the ball over on his first two drives. Mariota finished 7-for-8 for 94 yards and one interception. The Titans used four quarterbacks, who completed 23-of-27 passes overall for 286 yards . They also limited Atlanta to 2.2 yards a run. Atlanta's T.J. Yates was 9-for-15 for 105 yards. The Falcons won despite being outgained, 371 yards to 323.
